Professor Nanako Yoneyama
My specialization is in psychiatric and mental health nursing. My main research topics are providing nursing assistance to people with addiction problems, supporting the mental health of the people in the community, and to ensuring support for all professionals who provide care, such as nurses. I have also introduced the subject of forensic nursing to Japan. This emerging field, from North America, includes nursing support for victims of domestic violence, abuse, and sexual violence. I am involved, along with like-minded colleagues, in the establishment of the Japan Association of Forensic Nursing. The world of psychological nursing is vast and I encourage you to join us in this exciting new field.

Assistant Professor Ikuko Obara
I worked in the hospital for a long time. So far, I have studied the depressive state following a stroke, homebound-handicapped people’s activities of daily living, and medication management. In the field of mental health nursing, I am interested in the family function of depression patients and the stigma of mentally ill persons. I plan to study not only at the hospital but also in the community to gain a broader understanding of health issues present in society.
